“First stars and first galaxies in the history of the universe”

Abstract:
Astronomy started when humanity started questioning the nature of celestial objects in daily life. We have answered many of those questions last several centuries thanks to a revolutionary development in science. Now the frontier of astronomy lies in the first generation of stars and galaxies in the history of the universe. We are studying these early galaxies to help reveal the origin of humankind and what we see in today’s universe. I would like to talk about the recent activities of astronomers on this global project.

概要：
天文学は、人類が日常生活の中で天体の性質に疑問をもちはじめたことから始まりました。この数世紀の間に、科学の革新的な発展のおかげで、私たちはこれらの疑問の多くに答えてきました。
現在、天文学のフロンティアは、宇宙史における第一世代の星と銀河にあります。 私たちはこれらの初期の銀河を研究して、人類の起源や現在の宇宙の姿を明らかにしようとしてます。
この地球規模のプロジェクトにおける天文学者たちの最近の活動についてお話したいと思います。
